Committee approves $1,000 tuition reimbursement for Alpena County EMT trainees
The Courts & Public Safety Committee on Sept. 15 approved a $1,000-per-student tuition reimbursement for Alpena County first responders who complete an EMT course and obtain Michigan certification, after earlier motions setting different amounts failed.

The Alpena County Courts & Public Safety Committee voted Sept. 15 to recommend a $1,000 tuition reimbursement per student to any Alpena County first responder agency whose members successfully complete an EMT course and become licensed as Michigan emergency medical technicians. The motion, moved by Chair Lucille Bray and supported by Commissioner Bill Lallaie, carried unanimously.
