Chair Art Jeannot welcomed David Davis as the newly appointed commissioner for District VI; Davis said he appreciated the opportunity to serve. In public comment, Evan Warsecke of Inland Township, identified as a former county commissioner for District VI, said he stepped away four to six weeks earlier because of job changes and personal matters and thanked commissioners and county staff for their work: "It was an honor to serve the citizens of Benzie County and thank you all."
Rebecca Hubers of Benzie County Emergency Management reported that the new communications tower is online and active and that grant closeout is underway. She also said staff have been visiting local townships regarding the county Debris Management Plan. A resident, Eric VanDussen of Benzonia Township, asked whether the June 27 FOIA/Open Meetings Act training session would be open to the public; the board reached consensus that the special meeting would be open. Hubers also asked whether staff would be invited to the training.
County Administrator Katie Zeits announced a Betsie Valley Trail ribbon cutting on June 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and summarized topics from a recent county administrators conference. The board agreed to schedule a special FOIA/OMA training session on June 27, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
