Two alcohol-license applications reviewed; sheriff flagged one due to out-of-state residency

County Clerk Miriam Jordan reported two alcohol-license applications at the Sept. 3 workshop and the board set one for the Sept. 9 regular agenda.
Jordan said Pina Shah applied for an alcohol license for Shree Ji TyTy 1210 LLC at 4831 U.S. Highway 82 W. The location currently holds a license; the Sheriff reviewed the application and "does not recommend approval because the application states that the applicant lives in Texas," Jordan said. The applicant told the board she intends to move to TyTy; the board placed the application on the regular agenda for further consideration.
Jordan also said Ryan Rutland applied for a retail malt beverage package license and retail consumption licenses for The Market at Rutland Farms, 5641 Union Road, so beer and wine can be served at events. Jordan said consumption licenses require beverages to remain on the premises; Rutland confirmed he will use signage and implement monitoring to establish and enforce boundaries. The board indicated a desire to place Rutland's application on the Sept. 9 consent agenda.
No final approvals or denials were recorded at the workshop; both applications were scheduled for further action at the Sept. 9 meeting.
