Coffee County approves amendment to add $3.5 million soccer complex to Community Work Program

After a required public hearing at its April 3 meeting, the Coffee County commission approved a resolution to amend the 2018 Joint Coffee County and Cities Comprehensive Plan to add a $3.5 million soccer field complex to the Community Work Program and will submit the resolution to the Southern Georgia Regional Commission.
County Administrator Wesley Vickers told the board that a public hearing was required to amend the Community Work Program portion of the 2018 Joint Coffee County and Cities of Ambrose, Broxton, Douglas and Nicholls Comprehensive Plan to add a new soccer field complex estimated at $3.5 million.
The commission entered the public hearing at 9:35 a.m.; no members of the public spoke. After closing the hearing, the board voted to approve the resolution to amend the Community Work Program. County staff will submit the approved resolution to the Southern Georgia Regional Commission as the transcript indicates.
