The Coffee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved awarding engineering services for improvements to the county soccer complex to Lancore Engineering at its Sept. 5 meeting.
County Administrator Wesley Vickers told commissioners the project is funded through ARPA and identified a grant number cited in the meeting as "INODIC Grant #GA 0013741." Three firms submitted requests for qualifications: Lancore Engineering, Keck and Wood, and Hofstadter and Associates. The RFQs were scored by Vickers, County Clerk Tracie Vickers and Abby Paulk; based on that scoring, Vickers recommended Lancore Engineering.
Vice-Chairman Jimmy Kitchens moved to award the engineering services to Lancore Engineering; Commissioner Johnny Wayne Jowers seconded the motion. All five commissioners voted in favor.
The county did not provide contract dollar amounts or a project timeline at the meeting. Officials said the next steps will be contract negotiation and final scope definition with the selected firm.
The board handled the award as a routine procurement item; commissioners did not discuss competing firms’ scores in detail during the public meeting.
