Road & Bridge Supervisor Wayne Lanning updated the board Oct. 16 on maintenance and capital items.
Lanning said crews have about two more weeks of blading before moving to haul rock in the McDonald and Achilles areas, and he urged farmers to move hay bales before snowfall. He reported the Klein bridge work is almost complete pending finish work on guardrails and dirt packing; engineers indicated compacted fill will allow reopening once packing is finished.
The county sold an old grader on the Big Iron auction for $40,225; the county's share will be $36,225. Commissioners also discussed potential equipment purchases through an online auction hosted by Cheyenne Wells, and the board agreed it will not maintain the trail road on Road V.
No formal votes were taken on equipment purchases during the meeting; routine operational items were informational updates to the board.
