Rawlins County commissioners and City of Atwood officials met Oct. 16, 2025, to discuss several interlocal topics and agreed to continue the conversation at a follow-up session Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Atwood City Hall.
Commissioner Mark Mosley read a prepared statement that "it is the position of the Board of Commissioners that a fair and equitable set of agreements be reached that best serve the interests of the taxpayers voters and citizens of the City of Atwood and Rawlins County as a whole." The joint meeting agenda covered Communications, a Road & Bridge lease, a Jail Memorandum of Understanding, the Airport, and a Connecting Link.
Present at the joint session were the three county commissioners, County Attorney Chris Rohr, Clerk Rachel Finley, Sheriff Catlyn Wahrman, EMS Director Megan Rippe, several county department heads, Mayor Janet Stice, five city councilmembers, and city staff including City Attorney Charles Peckham and City Superintendent Rick Kramer. The two bodies set a follow-up joint meeting for Nov. 10, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Atwood City Hall to continue negotiations and review draft agreements.
