Alpena County approves budget amendments including opioid-settlement transfers

County Administrator Jesse Osmer presented the corrections and amendments, and Treasurer Cindy Cebula asked that one action item’s wording be corrected from "Opioid Settlement Revenue" to "Opioid Settlement Expenditure." The board approved the correction and the package.
Key transfers included a $125,000 transfer from the Opioid Settlement line to Jail/Corrections and a $40,000 transfer from the Opioid Settlement line to a Prosecuting Attorney transfer. The board also approved increases to several expenditure and revenue line items noted in the administrator’s summary.
Commissioner Dan Ludlow moved to approve the adjustments and Commissioner Todd Britton supported the motion. The board approved the measures by roll call vote with all eight commissioners voting yes.
The approvals followed committee recommendations and were presented as corrections to earlier March 11 budget adjustments; the board did not change program authorizations beyond the line-item transfers. The meeting record lists the affected budget line numbers and amounts for record-keeping.
