Council grants first reading to extend Waste Management contract through 2030
Sumter County Council gave first-reading approval to Ordinance #25-1030 to extend the county’s contract with Waste Management of South Carolina, Inc. for convenience center operations and municipal solid waste services through 2030.

County Attorney Johnathan Bryan presented Ordinance #25-1030 at the June 10 meeting, describing the measure as an extension of the county’s long-standing agreement with Waste Management of South Carolina, Inc., which began in 2001 with five-year terms. Bryan said the ordinance would extend the current agreement through 2030; council moved and carried first-reading approval unanimously.
