The Putnam County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 21 adopted proposed changes to Chapter 1 (General Provisions) of the county code, approved the withdrawal without prejudice of a rezoning request for 166 Dennis Station Road, and passed routine consent items including approval of Oct. 3 meeting minutes and authorization for the chairman to sign an ACCG Safety Discount Verification Form.
The ordinance changes to Chapter 1 were approved after a public hearing in which no members of the public signed to speak. Commissioner Steve Hersey moved to adopt the changes and Commissioner Richard Garrett seconded; the motion carried with Commissioners Tom McElhenney, Richard Garrett, Steve Hersey and Jeff Wooten recorded as voting yea.
At the zoning public hearing, the board heard a request by Tyler and Allie Mathis to rezone 1.0 acre at 166 Dennis Station Road from AG to R-1. No members of the public signed up to speak; Commissioner Jeff Wooten moved to approve the applicant's request to withdraw without prejudice, seconded by Commissioner Tom McElhenney. The motion passed with Commissioners Tom McElhenney, Richard Garrett and Jeff Wooten voting yea and Commissioner Steve Hersey recorded as voting nay.
