Board reappoints Todd Setzer and Mitch Sigmon; proclaims Hispanic Heritage Month

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 15 reappointed Todd Setzer to a fifth term on the City of Claremont Planning Board and Board of Adjustment, with a term expiring Oct. 31, 2028, following a unanimous motion by Commissioner Robert C. Abernethy, Jr.
The board also unanimously reappointed Mitch Sigmon to a fourth term on the Jury Commission, with a term expiring June 30, 2027, on a motion by Commissioner Cole Setzer. In a separate presentation, Commissioner Cole Setzer presented a proclamation declaring Sept. 15–Oct. 15, 2025, as Hispanic Heritage Month to Centro Latino Program Coordinator Soraya Valdez Place.
Both reappointments were approved without recorded dissent and were included in the meeting record as motions that carried unanimously.
