Spencer County Fiscal Court acted June 16 on three separate zoning map amendment items recommended by the Taylorsville‑Spencer County Joint Planning & Zoning Commission.
1) Barry King: The court approved a motion to rezone parcels at 857 Woodland Hills Drive (R‑1 and AG‑1 to AG‑2) based on the planning commission's finding of compliance with the comprehensive plan.
2) Michael T. & Jane E. Orm: The court (first reading recorded June 16; second reading scheduled July 7) accepted the planning commission recommendation to rezone Tract 30A (7.197 acres at 565 Highway To Heaven) from AG‑1 to AG‑2 to allow a division of the tract and permit a family transfer of an existing home and construction on remaining acreage.
3) Floyd D. & Janet Inscho Estate & Lorie Coulter: The court approved rezoning 1.00 acre at 2285 Goose Creek Road from AG‑1 to R‑1 to correct a prior omission and bring the parcel into compliance, with a condition that the 20-foot access easement be placed on the plat. Planning staff and the attorney advised the court that the owner of the underlying property must grant the easement and recommended noting the pre‑existing access on the recorded plat.
All three items were supported by planning commission minutes in the meeting packet. The court recorded procedural motions and roll calls for each item; some items remain scheduled for second reading where state zoning procedures require it.
