Cheatham County commissioners handled several administrative and appointment matters during the Oct. 16 meeting.
The Calendar, Rules and Nominating committee moved and the commission approved the appointment of Anita Melle to the County Library Board for a term ending June 30, 2026 (Resolution 19). The consent calendar approved several notary applicants by voice vote (Resolution 20). In mayoral business, the commission approved adding a temporary position as the owner's representative to oversee the county jail construction project; county documents in the packet show a temporary-employment agreement with Ed Greer describing duties, hourly pay ($100/hour, up to 40 hours per week) and that the position is not eligible for benefits (Resolution 16(A); Employment Agreement, SEG 040–041).
County Mayor Kerry McCarver reappointed Bobby Gibbs to the East Montgomery Utility Board and provided an update on TVA activity. The Road and Bridge committee announced a meeting in November. The meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m. (Resolution 21).
