Cheatham County approves multiple budget amendments, ESSER employee bonuses and school capital transfers

Director of Accounts Sandrine Batts presented Budget Committee recommendations and commissioners approved the following county general-fund amendments: Ambulance/Emergency Medical Services $12,697.60, Rabies and Animal Control $500, and Cheatham County Library $12,500 (Resolution 7). The Highway/Public Works fund accepted a $525,000 transfer into Highway and Bridge Maintenance funded by damages recovered from individuals (Resolution 8). General Capital Projects transfers of $350,000 and $30,000 were approved for a maintenance department metal building and a pavilion at Sycamore Square (Resolution 9).
On school-related funding, commissioners approved a transfer not to exceed $300,000 from the General Purpose School fund to Education Capital Projects (pending Board of Education approval) for furniture purchases (Resolution 10). The county also authorized ESSER-funded supplemental payments to employees (an aggregate plan up to $750,000, with employer payroll costs itemized) and additional personnel-related budget amendments for experience-based bonuses (Resolutions 11 and 12). Budget Committee also approved an Extended School Program equipment appropriation of $369,045.09 funded by the American Rescue Plan Act Stabilization Grant for Childcare Providers (Resolution 13).
