After a contested nomination for Division I General Sessions judge, the Sevier County Commission confirmed Keith Cole by voice vote (19–1), filling a seat vacated by Judge Jeff Rader until a special election in 2026.

The Sevier County Commission voted June 24 to appoint Keith Cole to fill the Division I General Sessions judge vacancy left by the resignation of Judge Jeff Rader. The appointment, made by motion and second, was approved by voice vote: 19 in favor, one opposed (Commissioner Kent Woods), with five commissioners absent.
