West said an initial foundation board could number five to seven members with a maximum of 11 once established and suggested including department staff and community representatives.
Supervisors expressed support for the concept and asked staff to return with specifics about bylaws, board composition, and any fiscal or appointment procedures. No formal vote to create the foundation was taken at the Feb. 18 meeting.
What happens next: The Juneteenth allocation was approved by roll call; Parks & Recreation staff will develop foundation bylaws and a board structure for future Board review.
