Erie County commissioners approve subgrant, contracts, budget moves and appointments

The Erie County Board of Commissioners, meeting April 30, 2025 at the Services Center, approved a package of routine resolutions and administrative actions ranging from grant agreements to procurement and personnel matters.
On motions brought by Mr. Shoffner and seconded by President Shenigo the board adopted a 2025–2027 Biennial Subgrant Agreement with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (#25‑107, effective 7/1/25–6/30/27); declared certain county items surplus (#25‑108); made appointments to the Erie County Corrections Planning Board pursuant to O.R.C. §5149.34 (#25‑109); authorized payments and contracts including CORSA (#25‑110) and a contract with S&H Blinds & Floors for Services Center stairwell replacement (#25‑111); approved budget modifications and interfund transfers for county funds and the Landfill Operations Fund (#25‑112 through #25‑115 and #25‑114 for supplemental appropriations); and entered an agreement with Oglesby Construction for 2025 pavement marking on county roads (#25‑118). Each recorded roll call on the listed resolutions was “both aye.”
The board also adopted Amendment No. 2 to the Strong Families Safe Communities MOU with several neighboring counties, adding $15,000 in grant funding (#25‑119), executed Then and Now certifications under O.R.C. 5705.41(d)(1) (#25‑120), and approved a revised Auditor’s Certificate adding $475,000 for Civil & Environmental Consultants tied to the landfill expansion PTI. Additional approvals included an added auditor’s certificate for Link Computer Corporation ($54,353.04) for a Muni‑Link billing system, authorization to proceed with an RFQ for Juvenile Justice Center HVAC system improvements, equipment purchases (60 kW Kohler generator for $48,000), travel and training authorizations for county employees, and multiple personnel actions and recruitments across departments.
The meeting minutes list these actions as adopted on motion of Mr. Shoffner and second of Mr. Shenigo with roll call recorded as both aye; Commissioner Mro was noted absent at the start of session. The board adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
