Kittitas County commissioners on July 28 approved a contract (No. K2617) with the Washington State Conservation Commission and a companion interlocal agreement with the Kittitas County Conservation District to continue implementing the Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP), the county’s study session minutes show.
Planning Manager Jamey Ayling presented the staff report, provided background on the history of the Voluntary Stewardship Program and outlined tasks, budget and implementation responsibilities for the interlocal agreement. Ayling thanked Public Works Director Josh Fredrickson for assistance reviewing the contract materials.
Commissioner Brett Wachsmith moved to approve what the minutes record as "Resolution 2025L39 authorizing the execution of Contract No. K2617" with the Washington State Conservation Commission; Chair Laura Osiadacz seconded the motion and the minutes state the motion was approved. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve the resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement between Kittitas County and the Kittitas County Conservation District to continue implementing the VSP; Chair Osiadacz seconded and the minutes record the motion was approved.
The study session minutes list staff in attendance from Community Development Services, Public Works and the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and note there were no citizen comments. The minutes also record that there was no other business and the meeting concluded.
The minutes present the resolution identifiers using the formatting recorded in the meeting text ("Resolution 2025L39" for the contract authorization and a second resolution listed as "2025:.4O" for the interlocal agreement); the minutes do not provide formal roll-call vote tallies or dissenting votes for either motion.
