At their July 9 meeting, the Chase County Commissioners heard a briefing from Val Jansante, a representative for U.S. Rep. Adrian Smith. Jansante told the board the congressman has been focused on support for private schools, youth and family engagement in the child welfare system and legislation described in the briefing as the "No American Land for Communist China Act." Jansante also noted that Congressman Smith serves on the House Ways and Means Committee.
