Solid Waste District says C&T Project saved $200,000; Thayne Transfer Station pad underway

Jayson Lower, executive director of the IDAWY Solid Waste District, told Lincoln County commissioners on Oct. 18 that the C&T Project waste is covered, that the project saved roughly $200,000, and that construction has begun on the pad for the Thayne Transfer Station.
Lower said the district purchased a water truck and an excavator, continues to coordinate with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, and expects increased savings once the transfer station is operational and utilization rises. He reported significant ARPA funding on the Idaho side — described in the minutes as "several million dollars" — that will help lower tipping fees for Lincoln County residents. Lower also noted an approximate $600,000 decrease in the county budget allocation from the prior year.
Commissioner Hansen commended current and past commissions for supporting the project. Lower described the Thayne Transfer Station as the district’s "number one priority." No formal county budget action was recorded at the meeting; the board expressed appreciation for the update.
