Commission approves minutes, agenda amendments and county meal rate; authorizes auction advertising

Nelson County Commissioners approved routine administrative business at their Aug. 15 special meeting, including minutes from July 28 and Aug. 1 and 8, adoption of state in‑state meal reimbursement rates, and authorization to advertise items for sale at Steffes Auction.

Chairman Cody Johnson confirmed roll call and the board unanimously approved the minutes after a motion by Commissioner Aaron Mork and second by Commissioner Cameron Swenson. Commissioners then approved the amended agenda, which added a discussion about tractor bid publishing.

Commissioner Mork moved and Commissioner Mike Haugland seconded adopting the state's in‑state meal allowance rates—$9 for breakfast, $14 for lunch and $22 for dinner—and the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes. The commission also asked Building and Grounds' Jeff Ritteman to obtain pricing to replace two trees removed from the courthouse grounds before taking further action.
