The board read a prepared letter praising the program for improving access to nature-based play, modernizing procurement and building cross-departmental partnerships; the chair moved to approve the letters and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members praised the staff for partnerships with AISD and early-childhood centers and noted the program helps the department meet equity and climate goals. The staff presentation remains part of the meeting record and staff said they would follow up with any materials requested by board members.
What happens next: the approved letters will be transmitted as the board's formal support for the Nature Play program.
