Council approves $3.35 million increase to water and wastewater fund appropriations

The Cleburne City Council approved an amendment to the fiscal-year 2026 budget on Jan. 29 that increases Water & Wastewater Fund appropriations by $3,350,000 from unreserved fund balance to support several utility projects.
Finance and public-works staff said the adjustment followed a reconciliation that found some projects had been double-budgeted in the utility fund and bond issuances, and that available fund balances had been identified to move forward on the prioritized projects. The amendment increases appropriations from $46,347,835 to $49,697,835 and reduces the available unallocated fund balance accordingly.
Council voted unanimously to approve the amendment.
