Keith County approves $5,000 donation to Platte Valley Weed Management Association
Following a public presentation about invasive plants in county rivers, commissioners amended and approved a $5,000 donation to Platte Valley Weed Management Association and asked the group to submit a letter describing how funds will be used.

During public comment, a resident urged the board to help fund Platte Valley Weed Management Association to survey and control invasive plants (loosestrife, phragmites) that are spreading via tributaries. The speaker said the association requested $5,000–$10,000 and had scheduled helicopter surveys in early May.
