Fulton County proclaims March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Fulton County commissioners on Feb. 24, 2026, approved and executed a proclamation declaring March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
The proclamation, approved unanimously by the board, states in part: "March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and do commend this observance to all of our citizens and recognize that Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities, and knowing we are all One World, many Abilities!"
Commissioners met with representatives from Occupational Services Inc., The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties, Full Circle Residence, Lupey Behavioral Services and Fulton County Human Services, as well as consumers and family members. Chief Clerk Stacey M. Shives recorded the event and a group photograph was taken with the commissioners. The proclamation is recorded in the meeting minutes; no legislative or funding action accompanied the proclamation.
