Wills announced Hall’s retirement and said a reception is scheduled for Aug. 31, 2021, at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The council handled routine business quickly. Councilmember Matt Franklin moved to approve the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the Aug. 2, 2021 meeting and work session; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Mayor Wills then asked the council to approve payables totaling $285,474.87; Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve, Councilmember Mike Phillips seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The council approved several resolutions without recorded dissent. Resolution 0821‑07 authorized a Letter of Agreement with Neel‑Schaffer for a downtown parking and signage review; Councilmember Pete Sellers moved the measure, Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded, and it passed unanimously. Resolution 0821‑08 approved an agreement with the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission (SARPC); Councilmember William Taylor moved the resolution, Councilmember Mike Phillips seconded, and it passed unanimously. Resolution 0821‑09 authorized the Gideons International North Baldwin Pastor’s Appreciation Banquet (moved by Councilmember Shannon Clemmons and seconded by Councilmember Matt Franklin) and Resolution 0821‑10 concerned Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation HS, Inc. (moved by Councilmember Pete Sellers and seconded by Councilmember Matt Franklin); both carried unanimously.
With no further business, Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved to adjourn; Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the meeting was adjourned.
