Fulton County authorizes HAVA-funded security upgrades for election office

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 authorized use of the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant to install a TelePlus keycard/fob access point at the Voter Registration and Elections Office and to fund additional camera installations.
At the meeting, Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle presented a TelePlus quote and discussed security needs for the election office. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve the TelePlus keycard/fob installation and Elect IT’s camera work; the motion was recorded as approved by all commissioners. The board recorded the HAVA-funded authorization as $3,000.00.
The board also directed Elect IT technician Rick Grissinger to install separate cameras above the Commissioners' Office door and the Voter Registration/Election Office door to be funded by the same HAVA grant. The minutes do not specify the TelePlus quote line-item detail beyond the $3,000 authorization, nor do they record who seconded the motion.
The approval clears the way for TelePlus and Elect IT to begin the installations; the minutes list Rick Grissinger as the Elect IT technician assigned to the camera work. No timetable for installation was noted in the minutes.
