At the Feb. 12 council meeting, Fire Department representative Brian reported 18 calls year-to-date and told the council the department received a check "from Nucor for over $100,000." Brian said the department is reviewing coordination with neighboring towns on ambulance response and raised staffing concerns: "they need more people," the minutes record. He also said there was discussion of ambulance billing procedures and of what changes to dispatch might mean for call coverage.
