At its Sept. 19 meeting, the Cramerton Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a series of consent and ceremonial items, welcomed new town staff and approved updates to community committee governance.
Mayor Nelson Wills read a proclamation recognizing Graham and Gayle Bell and recommended naming the Centennial Center gazebo in their memory. Commissioner Atkinson moved to name the gazebo for Mr. and Mrs. E. Graham Bell; Mayor Pro Tempore Neeley seconded. The board approved the naming 5-0.

The board approved the consent agenda unanimously. The consent items included minutes from prior meetings (July 18 and Aug. 1), adoption of the Uniform Guidance procurement policy required for administration of a Rural Transformation Grant (financial management, procurement, program and property policies), a BRIC grant letter of intent, an Adopt-A-Highway award, and an updated contract with Martin Starnes for the FY22 audit.
Mayor Pro Tempore Neeley moved to approve updates to the Community Committee by-laws, officer positions and a new Community Committee logo; Commissioner Kincaid seconded and the motion passed 5-0. In commissioners’ remarks, members welcomed Town Clerk Missy Melton, thanked staff for grant and stormwater work, praised the police department and discussed local code enforcement activity and community fundraising ideas. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
