Chairperson Harry McManus told the Clinton County Legislature on Oct. 24 that county officials, the Town of Plattsburgh and The Development Corporation (TDC) will hold a press event Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. to announce a partnership and a joint application to the U.S. Economic Development Agency to redevelop the former Clinton County Airport property.
McManus said the press conference will take place adjacent to where the former county airport terminal building stood and described the event as a formal announcement of the partnership and the grant application. The minutes record the invitation for legislators to attend and say the three entities are applying together for an EDA grant; no further project specifics or dollar figures were provided in the meeting record.
The Legislature placed several airport-related resolutions on the agenda earlier in the meeting through the Plattsburgh International Airport Committee report; the minutes reflect that related committee recommendations appear among the items approved later in the session.
