Hendricks County officials opened two proposals for professional appraisal services during the Board of Commissioners’ meeting on Feb. 10, part of a procurement process to support reassessments and ongoing valuation work.
Assessor Nicki Lawson announced the county received two responses to its Notice to Bidders and publicly read the amounts: Nexus Group at $160,000 per year (totaling $640,000 over four years) and Nexus LTD at $170,000 per year (totaling $680,000 over four years). County Attorney Greg Steuerwald clarified these documents are requests for proposals for professional services and asked Lawson to review the submissions and return a recommendation at the next Commissioners’ meeting.
The solicited services were described as more than a single appraiser: the scope referenced appraisal services for multiple types of reassessments and annual trending. The board took no award action on Feb. 10; instead, members directed staff to evaluate the proposals and present a recommendation.
The next procedural step is a formal recommendation from Assessor Lawson to the Commissioners; a date for award or contract approval will depend on that recommendation and any follow-up evaluation of scope, staffing and pricing.
