Client representative urges county oversight and reforms for Claravida clubhouse program

Gabriela Hidalgo, who said she represents the Camino Nuevo program (called Claravida in the comment), told the Orange County Board of Supervisors that the Claravida clubhouse has "no supervision" and that clients face discrimination, retaliation and suspensions by staff. Hidalgo asked county leaders to meet after the meeting and proposed six remedies: review staff job descriptions, formally confront staff failures, implement unannounced visits, install activity video recording accessible to senior county investigators, write clear attendance and conduct rules, and conduct periodic program outcome evaluations.
