A board member explained that the changes remove an exclusion for waste volumes of less than 1 cubic foot, broaden the definition of residential property so it includes all property types, and alter language about container rules to refer to inside-fence property at convenience centers. "They are small changes, but they actually make a big impact on the way that code can be enforced," a supervisor said during the meeting.
A motion to adopt a resolution implementing the Chapter 14 changes was moved and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote. No public speakers opposed the amendments during the hearing that evening.
What happens next: the amendments will be incorporated into the county code and enforced as written; board staff will update the published ordinance text and provide notice as required by county procedures.
