Board authorizes applications for two Washington State agriculture grants for fairgrounds

A commissioner moved to submit a Capital Improvement Grant application not to exceed $175,000 for repairs to fairground buildings and improvements and to authorize fair managers to sign; the board approved the request and noted no local match is required. Separately, the board approved submitting an application for a Department of Agriculture fair-manager grant and authorized the fair manager to sign the application.
County staff and commissioners thanked Colton (staff) for following county grant-submission procedures and emphasized bringing grant requests to the board so the county can track matching or impact if any.
