Pacific County commissioners adopt annual economic development project list

The Pacific County Board of Commissioners adopted the annual economic development project list on July 8, 2025, certifying the projects recommended by the county economic development committee and rescinding resolution 2024-042.
Amanda, a county staff member who presented the OEDP process, told the commissioners that the PCOG/EDC reviews applications for 0.09 contracts and had submitted an updated list with five new projects. "Once we adopt the list, then they have already sent in the recommendations," Amanda said, and the board will consider contract appropriations during the December budget process.
Commissioners voted to adopt the list after a brief hearing in which no members of the public testified. A motion to adopt the list and rescind resolution number 2024-042 was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote.
Why it matters: Adoption certifies which projects may be advanced for 0.09 contract funding and sends the recommendations to the board for later appropriation decisions. The actual contract awards and budget appropriations will be considered after the county's 2026 budget is adopted, typically in December, Amanda said.
Next steps: The board approved the certified list; staff will forward the recommended contract packages for consideration in the December budget cycle when appropriations and contract awards are finalized.
