A staff member described the Hometown Christmas sequence: the Kiwanis Christmas parade followed by downtown family activities that include bounce houses, balloon artists, arts and crafts at Snow Hill and a real snow play area for children. The tree-lighting at City Hall was scheduled to begin around 6 p.m., with the tree lit at about 6:15 p.m. The staff member said there will be hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Rockwall Women's League and live music downtown.
Staff also said Breakfast with Cena will be held at the community center with two morning time slots and that registration for the January daddy-daughter dance is already open to residents and nonresidents, with the earlier evening time slot nearly full. The parks staff noted high participation in recent programs such as the fishing derby and encouraged board members to participate in parade planning and city events.
The board moved on after the preview and adjourned the meeting.
