Boca Raton council approves 8‑story mixed‑use development at Tri‑Rail station amid parking, traffic concerns

The Boca Raton City Council voted 5‑0 on Jan. 14 to adopt two ordinances and a site‑plan resolution clearing the way for an eight‑story mixed‑use commercial‑industrial multifamily development (CIMD) integrated with the Boca Raton Tri‑Rail station.

City staff described the project as an 8.23‑acre, transit‑oriented development at the Tri‑Rail station that would include roughly 340 residential units and approximately 30,100 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Chief Planner Tamash Benarrahman told the council the project would provide "a total of 51 affordable and workforce housing units" and offer a 50% transit subsidy for residents and employees as part of transportation demand management commitments.
