Resident raises long-running Danberg code case and says he received a cease-and-desist

During public requests at the Dec. 9 workshop, resident Jonathan Ungehan addressed the council about an ongoing code-enforcement matter related to the Danberg corporation and an adjacent mixed-use project.

Ungehan said he was the original complainant in the code case and that the matter has been active about two years despite a special magistrate issuing a final order. He asserted the respondent "dropped their appeal" and said it is "concerning that this council hasn't brought it up again to resolve these issues." He also said he received a cease-and-desist from counsel allegedly intended to silence his public comments and asked for the city manager and council to explain the city's stance and next steps.

The council did not provide an immediate substantive response in the workshop transcript; the mayor closed the public-request period and the council proceeded to other business. Ungehan said he would not be representing any company and that his remarks were personal.
