Cloud County board approves township appointments, licenses, payroll and routine resolutions

At its Feb. 3 meeting, the Cloud County Board of Commissioners carried several routine but consequential administrative items. The board appointed township officers to fill positions where previous electors declined—naming Starr Township Treasurer Richard Phelps; Buffalo Township Treasurer Noel Hanson; Colfax Township Treasurer Terry Tate; Center Township Trustee Richard Peterson; Lincoln Township Trustee Jack Widen; Lincoln Township Treasurer Michelle Widen; and Summitt Township Trustee Marvin Henning.
Commissioners approved appointing Commissioner Ron Copple to the North Central Regional Planning committee and granted cereal malt beverage licenses for Rick Simpson and Mark Headrick to operate at the Cloud County Fair Grounds. The board approved Resolution 2025-09 voiding two checks from Feb. 10, 2020, to Family Support Registry ($373.09) and Tennessee Child Support ($128.30). The county recognized receipt of $1,537.87 from the KCAMP Risk Avoidance Grant program to purchase a flammable storage cabinet for the courthouse.
The board approved payroll expenses totaling $189,575.16 across funds and recorded payroll deductions and benefits of $80,889.13; the full payroll detail is available at the County Clerk's office and on the clerk's public records webpage. The board also approved abatement 2025-37 with a net change of ($414.16) and a refund of $414.16. The board approved the Jan. 27, 2025 minutes and adjourned at 12:19 p.m.
