Boca Raton CRA adopts updated application fee schedule, eliminates advertising processing fee

The Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency on Monday approved a change to its application review and processing fee schedule that eliminates an advertising administrative processing fee and advertising deposits and aligns CRA charges with the city's user-fee schedule.

Arlene Chees Nelson, a DDRI planning analyst with the city, told the board that Resolution 2024-04-CRA consolidates the previous, fragmented fee items into a single schedule and updates fees associated with public notices. "This resolution changes the CRA application schedule by eliminating the advertising administrative processing fee and advertising deposits, updating the fees associated with public notice," Chees Nelson said during the presentation. She told commissioners the resolution would become effective Oct. 1, 2024.

With no public speakers, a commissioner moved to adopt the minutes and later moved to approve the resolution. The board voted 5–0 to adopt Resolution 2024-04-CRA.

The adoption is procedural: it revises the administrative fee structure for CRA-related applications and does not directly authorize any projects or expenditures. City staff will implement the revised schedule in the city's billing and permitting systems and notify applicants of the updated fees.

The CRA meeting packet shows the resolution repeals the prior consolidated schedule (Resolution 2022-03-CRA) and provides standard severability and effective-date language. The resolution was presented as staff-recommended and adopted without public comment.
