Commission confirms board appointments, meeting calendar and 2024 holiday schedule

Appointments: The commission reappointed Jerry Groce, Brente Jeffreys and Lavon Duboise to the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) board and reappointed Matt Cooper and Timmy James to the Industrial Development Board for District I. New Industrial Development Board appointments include Craig Madden (District II), Phillip Rogers (District IV) and Mark Holland as the probate judge’s representative; terms (where listed) run through Sept. 30, 2027. A request to appoint members to the Department of Human Resources Board was tabled to allow time to find nominees.
Schedule and holidays: The commission approved the FY2023–24 meeting schedule and adopted the 2024 holiday calendar as announced by the governor’s office; the holiday resolution includes a policy that employees who have completed a six‑month probationary period are entitled to one floating holiday in the calendar year.
All motions were recorded as approved; the minutes include letters of interest from reappointed individuals.
