Cloud County approves CDL training agreements, wheel loader purchase and Cunningham Fiber work request

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 15 approved Commercial Driver's License (CDL) wage advance agreements that will cover training expenses for county employees and require recipients to remain employed with the county for two years or repay prorated fees. County costs for the program were presented as $2,624 per participant.
Highway/Weed Administrator Rod Michaud told the board he will purchase a wheel loader for the Weed Department at a cost of $89,000. Michaud also reported ongoing blade patching and that the department is collecting prices on a grooming broom.
The board approved a Request & Petition from Tony Cunningham of Cunningham Fiber for work at 120th and Hawk on a unanimous motion. During public comment attendee Bill Czapanskiy said recent rock placement had damaged a road; Michaud said he would speak with the grader operator to correct the issue.
The board approved CDL agreements specifically with Michael Vanhousen and Logan Esparza, and approved the Request & Petition for Cunningham Fiber on motions by Commissioner Copple with seconds from Commissioner Kearn. No additional permitting conditions or technical specifications for the Cunningham Fiber work were discussed in the minutes.
