Cloud County hires corrections officer, approves expenses and other routine actions

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 6 approved a set of routine personnel and financial actions, including hiring Michael Stuart as a Corrections II (H1) effective Oct. 6, 2025.
The board approved two 10-minute executive sessions under the personnel exception to discuss non-elected personnel; both motions passed unanimously. Commissioners also appointed Commissioner Ron Copple as the voting delegate for the KCAMP annual meeting in December with Commissioner Dannie Kearn as alternate.
County staff reviewed the Fund Status Report as of Sept. 30, 2025, reporting an ending cash balance of $12,718,395.70. The board approved expenses totaling $389,446.43, including a General Fund total of $219,914.48, Road & Bridge $39,792.97, Equipment Reserves $56,000, and Solid Waste $25,702.35; the Clerk noted full expense detail is available at the County Clerk’s office and on the Clerk’s public records webpage.
All recorded motions were adopted by unanimous vote. The board approved the Sept. 29, 2025 minutes and adjourned at 11:38 a.m.; the next regular meeting was set for Oct. 14, 2025.
