Cloud County reviews May finances, approves payroll and three fund transfers

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners reviewed the county’s budget and fund status as of May 31, 2025, at its June 9 meeting and approved payroll and multiple transfers to correct prior entries.

County staff reported an ending cash balance of $15,367,943.19. The board approved payroll expenses totaling $198,858.61, with department line items recorded as General Fund $99,857.31; Road & Bridge $54,999.44; Appraiser $6,522.42; County Health $22,770.08; Noxious Weed $1,451.21; Election $2,162.25; Solid Waste $11,095.90. Payroll deductions and benefits totaled $84,218.75. The County Clerk noted the detailed expense report is available in the Clerk’s office and on the Clerk’s public records webpage.

The board also approved three corrective transfers: Transfer 2025-0609-1 moved $153.04 from Solid Waste - Recycling / payroll to County General - Recycling / payroll to fix the April 28, 2025 payroll; Transfer 2025-0609-2 moved $44,000 from Appraisal - Mapping Expense to Appraisal - Contractual Services to correct a fund related to check #221970; and Transfer 2025-0609-3 corrected a contractual services posting for recycling related to check #221917 (the minutes do not specify an amount for that transfer).

Commissioner Ron Copple reported attending a City of Glasco meeting; Chairman Michael Cleveland reported attending a Clyde City Council meeting and meeting with Miltonvale officials; Commissioner Dannie Kearn reported participating in a Homeland Security meeting by Zoom. The Board approved the June 2 and June 6, 2025 minutes and adjourned at 11:27 a.m. until June 16, 2025.
