Cloud County names Makenna Haas emergency management director

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2025-21 on Nov. 24 appointing Makenna Haas as Cloud County Emergency Management Director, effective Nov. 4, 2025. The motion was made by Commissioner Ron Copple and seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn.
The appointment also includes Haas’s designation to represent Cloud County on the Regional Homeland Security Council; the Board approved that appointment by the same unanimous vote. The resolutions were presented and adopted as routine personnel and interagency-designation actions during the session.
Commissioner Ron Copple moved and Commissioner Dannie Kearn seconded both measures, and the Board recorded unanimous support. The meeting minutes list the action as Resolution 2025-21 (appointment) and a separate motion approving the county’s representative to the regional council.
The items carried no separate funding action and the Board did not attach additional conditions to the appointments. The Board continued with other business after adopting the motions.
