Fulton County to replace 20-year-old dispatch clocks, approves grant-funded regional support contract

Fulton County commissioners approved replacement of two aging dispatch clocks and authorized a grant-funded regional support contract at their Dec. 23 meeting.
EMA/911 Director Brian Barton briefed the board, saying the dispatch clocks are more than two decades old and "in dire need of replacement." Barton told commissioners that 'Pre Alert' is in place and that information has been sent to local fire departments; he also updated the board on training activities the department has completed and scheduled.
On motion by Commissioner Randy H. Bunch, the board approved and executed a ComPros quote for two dispatch clocks in the amount of $4,940.00, which covers hardware and installation. On motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann, the board approved and executed the 2026 Mission Critical Partners Regional Support Contract for Professional Services; the transcript states the contract is fully grant funded. Both motions were approved 'All in favor.'
The board's approvals fund immediate equipment replacement and secure a grant-funded support contract for mission-critical services into 2026.
