JFAC honors outgoing pages as meeting opens
Summary
The Joint Finance Committee paused at the start of its Feb. 20 meeting to honor pages from the House and Senate, who described plans for college and thanked legislators for the experience.
Chairman Groh opened the Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee and recognized the pages who completed six weeks of service. Representative Tanner introduced the House page Conrad, who said he plans to attend Covenant College in Georgia and pursue a business degree. Easton Chandler, the Senate page, said he will attend the University of Utah and later pursue law. Lawmakers presented the pages with a joint recommendation letter and gifts, and thanked them for their service.
The short ceremony lasted several minutes and the committee proceeded to its budget business once quorum was confirmed.
The committee adjourned public comments and moved to scheduled budget presentations.
