Perry Harrison and Adam Kiker of LKC Engineering presented a draft Parks Master Plan at the Aug. 7 Raeford City Council meeting covering McLauchlin Park, Robbin Heights Park, Freedom Park and City Pond Park. They said the plan was developed using resident survey results and city Parks and Recreation Advisory Board input and is intended to guide future park improvements.
City staff informed the council the plan will be considered by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on Aug. 15, 2023 for a recommendation before returning to the city council for final action at a subsequent meeting. No formal council vote on the master plan occurred Aug. 7; the presentation was informational and intended to gather council feedback prior to advisory‑board action.
