Tecumseh council hears updates on housing talks, water tower painting and EDA project completion

At its Nov. 3 regular meeting the Tecumseh City Council received routine reports from staff on streets, economic development, utilities and parks that outlined near‑term project steps and outstanding items.
Streets and utilities staff (Doug Goracke) reported that a decision is needed on Arrowhead Drive, patching and rock orders for the DTR project should begin, and a new contract for the DTR work is forthcoming. Utility staff said the EDA project is effectively complete pending programming by Olsson; removal of items from the old pool house and a tear‑down are planned. Staff also reported that the north water tower painting is complete pending cure and sampling before the tower is refilled, and that an OPPD test was completed last week. The minutes note a recent large‑user sewer rates adjustment was completed.
Economic development staff said they are working on Niocorp matters, researching housing funding options and are in talks with Aspen Builders about a housing addition; the minutes say the city is still awaiting CDBG DTR award results. Parks staff reported a pickleball net repair was completed and that the department is seeking bids for new fencing around courts and for the park bridge across the creek.
The City Clerk told the council staff are working through the fiscal year‑end 2025 audit and that auditors will return in December. The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
