Board approves resolution accepting completed contract for district-wide security upgrades

The Edmonds School District board unanimously approved Resolution No. 26-02 to accept the completed Contract Q-22-255 CP for district-wide security upgrades to Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
Director Katims thanked voters and noted the district's 2020 levy funded security work: "For this, we thank our voters who approved our 2020 levy," the chair said. Trustees discussed the importance of securing building controls (including HVAC) to prevent hacking and to protect student safety and operations.
The resolution was presented as a single reading and approved by voice vote. Staff characterized the upgrades as essential to keep systems safe and healthy; the work will continue as part of the district's levy-funded capital and maintenance activities.
